Oh So Sexy Menswear Inspired ft. Zalora*

http://photos-b.ak.instagram.com/hphotos-ak-xaf1/10843744_352910884880889_1064577059_n.jpg
The picture may only have an apple tart but trust me, there were macaroons (s, as in plural) and chocolate cake involved.

Hi there, how are you today? I'm pretty good, but I can't say the same for my wallet tho. Hahaha
I did some damage yesterday. I went shopping and late lunch date with a lot of dessert with my best friend.

Talking about shopping... One of my tip to not go crazy when going out is first, EAT because what ever it is you're buying when you're hungry you have hungry eyes that not only wants to eat everything but also wants to buy everything. Second, make sure to know what you NEED, go to your wardrobe and see what key essential that you're missing to complete your looks. And third,  BROWSE the store's website to know what they have, and take INSPIRATIONS from instagram, tumblr and pinterest.
...Okay, I'm gonna keep it real, those tips works but you just can't tame yourself when Charlotte Tilburry is out with a new lip pencil and you want to get it right? so even though it cannot guarantee anything, it's worth trying :) It's all back to you and how you control your wants.

So some of the things in my wishlist were menswear inspired; a leather backpack, a pair of boots, a steel watch and an oversize striped shirt.
After surfing the mall for a good couple of hours I can't seem to find the exact item that I look for and ended up going home with the things I want but wasn't on my to buy list that day... teehee

...When all else fails, the trusty online shopping is super dependable and always there 24/7. Your next best bestfriend!
So after I'm done with my night routine and changed in my lounge wear, I started hunting for the things I couldn't find in the mall. My eyes wandered on Zalora's site. Being one of the most popular one stop online shopping on the internet land, Zalora have a million of choices. And my eyes was drawn in to the Swiss Army's watches on Zalora http://www.zalora.co.id/swiss-army/. The sleek, simple but chic design won me over and they're absolutely going on my wishlist! The best part is its fast deliery, who wouldn't want that?!

Click on the pictures, or HERE to see more on what Zalora's 600+ local and international brands have in store and of course, more of Swiss Army.

There's something about women who wears man's watch that is so sexy...

And for y'all who lives in Jakarta, Indonesia be EXCITED because Zalora is having their pop-up store this December!

A Touch of Red, Yayasan Jantung Indonesia for Jakarta Fashion Week #JFW15

A charity was held in the spirit of promoting the importance of avoiding and overcome heart disease. This charity is dedicated for the operation of children with congenital heart disease, help the unfortunate and expression of appreciation to the donors.
And what better ways than combining good deeds with fashion? This year Yayasan Jantung Indonesia presented a fashion show with Indonesia's well-known designer, Denny Wirawan at the Jakarta Fashion Week last November.

Along with the "Go Red for Women" or "Beware Women" campaign, was chosen "Mamita, Spanish, Embroidery" as the theme.
A lot of meaning was generated from the title itself including; Mamita is mother in spanish, and Mamita as a starring in a film called Manolete that was played by Penelope Cruz. Mamita in that film is a mistress of Manolete, a matador who lived in 1917-1947. When Manolete was dying because he gored by bull, his last wish was to meet Mamita but unfortunately she could only met him through red roses that was sprinkled on his cemetary.

This campaign is an international movement for the sake of raising more awareness about heart disease and remind women to be more concerned to maintain a healthy heart. Nowadays, heart and blood vessel disease are two of  major causes of death of women in the world.

Meanwhile during the press conference, Susan Bacthiar, the ambasador of Yayasan Jantung Indonesia, shared her knowledge about how this era women wants to have the same lifestyle as the men. Such as, consuming fast food, smoking, and drinking alcohol which has a higher risk for women.
Susan also said, that there is a higher level of stress with women who has both family and a career as their priority. When handling both household and a job, there is a higher chance of getting heart and blood vessel disease.
Sadly, a lot of women are underestimating the problems because they still think men are more dominant of getting heart disease.

The event was attended by Indonesia's public figure; Titiek Puspa, Maudy Koesnaedy, and Ruth Sahanaya and opened by singer, Nina Tamam.  The socialite started the show by walking on the catwalk wearing some of Denny Wirawan's Mamita creation. Among the socialites are; Wanda Ponika, jewelery entrepreneur, Anadita Makes, director of Passionnee Bread & Pastry, Rosaline Stella Lie, director of PT Savillas Consultants Indonesia and Dinna Satar, businesswomen.

My mom is a single parent, she works and take care of the family at the same time. I love her so much, my heart breaks when I see her get sick or even not feeling well. Thus, I always want to give her the best. The best health care, vitamin, and help her reduce her stress at home. She's the strongest woman, I know and she is, for me, the epitome of a phenomenal women.

Now, I want to spread the word of this campaign to you, so you can tell your mom, sister, grand mother, aunt, girlfriend, daughter, neighbor, friends, and all the women out there. Let's help each other, and every women towards a healthier lifestyle.

Dance With Athaya #1: THIS IS THE PINK PRINT

http://photos-b.ak.instagram.com/hphotos-ak-xaf1/10844008_1509906905956633_890060123_n.jpg

Hey guys,

2014 is coming to an end and I want to do things that I've always wanted to do on my blog. One of them is.... creating a music series. Whoop whoop!!

It was beauty series last month and this month, another new series is up... it's called DanceWithAthaya. This series is named after one of my soundcloud playlist, "feel my beat and dance with me". It was too long, so I made it short and since I like to dance, it just makes more sense to combine the two meanings.

In this series, I'll be talking about new music, old music, the songs, the artists, and music related news.
I may not know much, but I'm the kind of person that cannot be separated from my earphone. I have to have music, if possible, 24/7. Even lately, I've been finding myself falling asleep to my soundcloud playlists!
Anyway, so I hope you guys are excited as I am because, music is just an essential thing in my life. I JUST LOVE MUSIC. Good music, of course!

ISBeauty #1

Hey Beauties, I am so happy to introduce my new beauty posts called #IsBeauty.
It is a skincare, beauty, and make up tips and tricks from yours truly and of course the experts.

I am so excited because I've been really interested in make up for quiet some time now.
When I was little, I used to always see my mom doing her make up before work and take her make up to play with it. Now, we share our make up, shop together and help each other apply masks.

And since I've been working, make up is becoming one of my everyday routine along with skin care.
Of course, I'm not saying that if you're working you need to wear make up but for me, personally, make up can brings out parts of my face that I want to highlight.
Someone have told me that, if you want people to pay attention when you're presenting you need to make them feel interested in your appearance. Because personality is not the first thing people see.
So, if I want to attract people's attention when I'm talking I will draw the attention to my lips, wearing colorful lips or glossy. And if I want to draw the attention to my hands when I'm instructing, I'll be wearing a red nail polish, for example.
All and all, I think make up is so much fun, I learn so much about my face and my skin and honestly, things that I was very insecure, like my face shape, I have learned to love it.

"If you love yourself, nothing can brings you down"

For skin care, I think whether you're a make up addict or not, you need to take a damn good care of your skin.
I initially want to take skin care seriously because I want to achieve a radiant, illuminating healthy skin, I think it is the key to look young. Skin care is the bomb. The downside is, it could be a pretty long journey finding out  the perfect products that suits your skin. With different skin type, and the weather, you need to take your time, do research and (unfortunately) sacrifice in spending your money. It is trully an investment for your skin, but I guarantee, it is WORTH IT.
After you figure out your beauty regime, you will have to strictly follow the routine, and enjoy the result.
It feels so good, when you see yourself in the mirror and your skin look so much better, without dead skin, pores, blackheads, whiteheads and even pimples. Who wants them? No one, not me, not you.

Disclaimer, I am not a professional make up artist or a skin care professor. All the things that I write, say or do are all based on experience, research, and knowledge from the experts.

ON TO THE ACTUAL POST, this tips and tricks are for the FLAWLESS NO MAKE UP MAKE UP.

#JFW15 LaSalle College, Jakarta Fashion Week 2015

Whilst waiting to enter the LaSalle college show at JFW’s fashion tent, I was asked by a TV reporter,

What do I think of LaSalle’s fashion shows?

I say, well, I think LaSalle happens to be one of the nests of potentially great designers.

And I was right, fashion focused schools whichever it is, they are always great for you who wants to study fashion. When you're deeply passionate about fashion, especially if you want to be a fashion designer, it's good to know all the fundamental things to have all the knowledge and able to create something innovative and original. They will be able to nurture your potential and turn it into your gift.

These are some of my fave looks from the show, enjoy!

OCTOBER ROUND UP

 de-la-renta-closinghttp://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Lk22-LKMiYc/TDpE1rpSYrI/AAAAAAAAATw/YB-DAPlb1m4/s1600/oscar_de_la_renta.jpg

October 20th 2014 was not a good day for fashion.
We were all saddened by the news that Oscar de la Renta has passed away at the age of 82.
Just a few weeks after announcing his new creative director; Peter Copping, who will start working this November.

Oscar de la Renta was and will always be one of fashion's biggest icon and legend.
His miraculous work has all of us in awe, every. single. collection.

He is an inspiration to not only fashion designers around the world but also for the entire fashion community; from lifestyle, to personal style.

He has always successfully stunned all of us, from runways to red carpet and from celebrities to the first lady.

In his shows; I always feel like not only he understands us, women, but he was also having a conversation with us.
He showed us what grace, elegance, confidence and style are.
He empowers women through his clothes and his wise words.
And somehow, it makes me feel like I know him, I related to him and I love that he was so kind, and positive, supportive, and genuine as a person.

Through years and years since he started his career, he has been mesmerizing the fashion world with his unbelievably exquisite imagination that came to life in every single clothes he made.

He will always be an inspirational person and a role model, and his wise words will forever be remembered.
His presence will forever be missed.
And his work of art will forever be loved.
He will forever live in all of our hearts.

Rest In Peace Mr de la Renta

From Oscar de la Renta news, let me lighten you up with some Queen Bey.

Yes, you guess that right. After wearing so many TOPSHOP clothes, Beyonce has reportedly having a collaboration with the British multinational retailer to make an athletic collection. This is rumored to be launch Autumn next year, so be patient, ladies.

The twist is that this isn't like any other collabo, they're actually building a brand together, as Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd.

Quoted from Vogue UK;

"I could not think of a better partner as I continue to grow the Parkwood business. I have always loved Topshop for its fashion credentials and forward thinking," Beyoncé said in a statement today. "Working with its development team to create and produce a technical and fashion-led collection is exciting, and I'm looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership."

Philip Green - owner of Arcadia, which operates Topshop - was keen to distinguish this venture from other high-profile celebrity collections on the market, noting that this is a "partnership" rather than a conventional collaboration.

So now, you are not only going to wear the same clothes as The Queen B but also BY The Queen B.

I, for one, cannot wait to see what they will do with the sportswear trend!

Andre Leon Talley, a front row regular in New York, Paris, London, and Milan for more than 25 years, has named Kanye, Kim, and North the first fashion family.

The former editor at large of Vogue, and current editor at large of Numero Russia is known for using his influence and power house name to support, promote and mentor young designers along with other talents.

He says in his article made for Zappos that;

"The three  were a force of iconic moments as they pivoted around Paris, the mecca of fashion during the last fashion shows this month"

He calls them the Nick and Nora Charles of our times, the Liz and Dick, without the brawls.
He also quoted Ralph Lauren saying that "Kanye knows quality".

The Kardashian-West family sure created an A-List buzz, inside and outside the fashion shows. The paparazzi won’t seem to leave them alone, they’re surrounding the family’s every move; from getting out of the car, to taking a stroll with one of their close friend, Balmain designer, Olivier Rousteing.

Mr Talley highlights the family's fashion moments; Kanye's slashed bark jeans, exposing knees that becoming a trend to Kim's brilliant black Lanvin blazer, over nude breasts and short fringe skirt.
Their best moment yet was Kim's Givenchy naughty lace caging the body with a leather biker Jacket. North matching his mother, with the same concept lace outfit, both from Ricardo Tisci whilst attending Givenchy S/S 15 show in Paris.

Kim's style transformation has definitely sky rocketed to high fashion, even Andre agrees with me, saying, "The new sexy, both Kanye and Kim, wearing high fashion with quiet fire"

Yes please, I love what the couple has brought to the fashion industry.
They are one of the power couple, we can see how much they have influence each other and better each other -fashion wise, and successfully introduce fashion to Mademoiselle North.
Not to forget the fashion moments building up to their wedding, Andre wearing his fab red cape and a luncheon with Valentino.

-Now, do you think they're suiting as the first fashion family?

Tom Ford was the guest of honor at the amfAR Inspiration Gala, a celebration of men's style.

The award was presented by non-other than, Rihanna.
Taking a place at the Milk Studios, Los Angeles, the star studded event was celebrating his enduring contributions to menswear but most importantly, for his unwavering commitment to fighting the ongoing AIDS crisis.

“I’m going to say this when I get onstage, but I’m a little self-conscious about this award,” Ford told Style.com before the ceremonies began, “because the most inspiring thing for me is the men and women who devote their lives to eradicating HIV and AIDS, so an inspiration award to me is really for them.”

And Tom Ford's admiration of them is our admiration for Tom Ford's designs; his designs came to life that night, worn by the likes of Miley Cyrus and Rihanna.

I am so inspired by Rih's outfit, styling, make up, and basically everything from H to T.
Not only that I have an obsession towards Tom Ford alluring, sexy, glamorous designs, but I also think it is perfect for Rihanna's attitude and style.

Tom Ford is one of the designers, who in my opinion is bringing the women empowerment to the next level.
It is acknowledging that each woman has got to be confident, and daring to be in his clothes.
But also, accepting, appreciating and loving themselves.
Because if we don't love ourselves, where will we get our confident from, yes?

Oh, you pretty things!

Rings, H&M and Duepunti

This morning was pretty productive, if I do say so myself; woke up, did my laundry, took a bath, made breakfast, did the dishes, made some calls, organized some paper work and sent emails.

But, all of a sudden, I'm not feeling well, my stomach doesn't feel good and I felt like I was about to throw up - which is not a pleasant feeling what so ever. And so, I decided to make some hot lemon tea and relax.
Whilst enjoying the tea, I came across this Russian devil cake in my camera roll that I had last weekend at The Cascade Lounge, Hotel Mulia, Jakarta.

Oh, how I wish I can indulge myself with all that deliciousness right now...

How's your day so far? Let me know in the comment below! Or catch up with me on my social media on the side bar :)

Have a delicious day xo

National Batik Day

On the 2nd of October; Indonesia celebrates Batik Day.
An annual celebration where almost the entire 249,9 million population wears Batik.

Whether it's a scarf or a loafer, the people's excitement and patriotism are really contagious. Even those who lives in other countries are celebrating it by proudly wearing batik.

Batik is a technique of manual wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth, or cloth made using this technique. It is made either by drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted tool called a 'canting', or by printing the resist with a copper stamp called a 'cap'.

Its beautiful pattern and traditional feel made Batik one of Indonesia's most popular heritage.
Not only that, each province and race in Indonesia also have their own Batik - and there are many kinds.

To celebrate the day, this year, instead of hanging out with my friends wearing Batik showing off our patriotism, I joined Yayasan Batik Indonesia as one of their model for the Batik fashion show in front of the first lady.

Yayasan Batik Indonesia is a nonprofit corporation that is a manifestation of the will of the equation lovers, artisans, entrepreneurs and observers of batik and imbued with the spirit of the Youth Pledge is also a partner of the Government work in developing, preserving and fostering entrepreneurs / national batik craftsmen.

I was excited to the point that I feel like learning how to walk properly in a catwalk is very important - since I have no experience as a catwalk model what so ever. And I guess, after watching fashion show I get a lil more confident in the way I walk. That and one thick novel above my head, just to keep my posture right. Head up, chin up, chest up, look straight, something like that.

Just like Oscar De La Renta says:

"Walk like you have three men walking behind you"
