Marking the one year of Rana Plaza disaster the Fashion Revolution - supported world wide by other organisation and fashion community, came up with the movement called "Who Made Your Clothes?"
And I was asked by the Indonesian team @Fash_RevID to join and be a part of it.
I honestly think it was a good idea, to pay it forward to the community that supports the fashion industry. But then I dig more information about the movement and the cause... That's when I realize that this is a very big deal and I'm honored to be a part of it... such a wonderful movement with a heart breaking story behind it.
I immediately jump in front of my laptop and email them that I'd love to contribute as much as I could.

The Rana Plaza building collapsed like an earthquake had struck.
My heart was moved by the story and I really want to share it with you.

Approximately 1,129 people were killed and 2,515 people were injured when Rana Plaza a garment factory in Bangladesh collapsed on April 24th, 2013.

According to a website source the Rana Plaza disaster is considered to be the deadliest garment-factory accident in history, as well as the deadliest accidental structural failure in modern human history. This is scary...

After watching this video and heard that the owner actually knew that something is wrong with the building and still letting the workers work... quoted, "Bangladeshi news media reported that inspectors had discovered cracks in the building the day before and had requested evacuation and closure. The shops and the bank on the lower floors immediately closed, but garment workers were forced to return the following day, their supervisors declaring the building to be safe."
Isn't it crazy how a human being would let another human being work in an unsafe and unhealthy working condition? One of the workers/survivor, Rahima noticed the crack on the building and the peculiarity of some staff by the time they were instructed to get in after being cleared out from the building by the manager due to the "boiler blast on the third floor" which was a lie...

The victims that were injured are not able to work anymore or work the foot pedals on a sewing machine. And most of them didn't even get any compensation or money from the fund they were supposed to get.

Some made this tragedy to be a 'lesson-learned' experience and show that they could increase their safety standard along with the minimum wages but at the same time more than 10 retailers were not cooperating in making the victim's life better or at least help them go back on their feet. They refused to sign the agreement regarding compensation to the victim. I mean, it doesn't make sense... for decades of outsourcing they've been producing their products in Bangladesh and still doesn't want to help funding the victims, which is their own workers...

It's fair to say that there are a lot of place other than Bangladesh that is fast fashion's dirty little secret. And other than this there are other issues regarding the garment factories and the fashion industry.

Before Rana in Bangladesh itself; an appalling working conditions that garment workers, mostly women but also children, endured daily. There were workers that worked for long hours, no overtime pay and in unsafe buildings for less than $1 a day! They even had approx 500 victims in garment factory accidents since 2005. What about other places? Other factories? How is their working standard then? How is their condition now? Are they fairly paid by the business?

    This disaster has changed the behavior of customers from 28 international brands like Mango, including me;

Are we giving the equal amount of - not only material but most importantly, attention and appreciation to what the invisible workers behind the clothes we wear has done?

Imagine the thread from the garment to the machinists who sewed it, all the way down to the farmer who grew the cotton. Because buying from the sales on the counter is the last thing to do in a long journey involving hundreds of people.

Rana Plaza is one of the factors why we want to remind our fellow fashion enthusiast to raise awareness and do more to the fashion community in the fashion world.

With the support of the fashion community from the fashion community especially the academics, activist and bloggers, we dedicate 24 April to be the "Fashion Revolution Day"

The Fashion Revolution is hoping to provide a worldwide platform to celebrate best practice within the industry, to ask questions, to raise standards, to make a difference and to set an example that change is possible. Showing that we could prevent the disaster that happened in Rana Plaza and that it shouldn't be the price of workers who made an $8 t-shirt should pay.
Think before you choose your clothes, think before you bargain, think before you decide.

Will my bargaining behavior be resulted in motivating the producers to use cheaper low quality products? Were these make up/skin care tested on animals? Could I recycle this shirt by the time I grow older or get bored of it? Does this price suitable to the amount of energy the workers has given? Does the company use the money wisely so that their working condition of the factory is safe and healthy?

These questions could be hard to answer and sometimes we don't even think when we shop, so you could always...

1) See the label, such as H&M Conscious or made out of Organic Cotton

2) Shop from your own closet A.K.A recycles! Who says that looking stylish means always buying the latest collection and be on trend?
"Being on trend means being out of style" - what makes your style a good style is when you can mix and match; mix and match your mood to your personality, the high and low brands, and you could always make it new by D.I.Y

3) Thrift shop; as long as you wash it properly any vintage findings or thrift shop treasures are worth to spend time on.

Join us by taking a picture of yourself #selfie wearing an item of clothing #insideout tag the brand who made your clothes and mention to @Fash_Rev on instagram and twitter :)

Let's together support The Fashion Revolution and be more than just a fashion enthusiast.

In Flight and In Love

Uniqlo Sweatshirt

So who's in here never been in Love?
I'd be lying if I raise my hand, because I think I did...
My last relationship - in my opinion, was pretty intense, because my feelings for him was deep.

"So deep the ocean would be jealous..."

Haha well maybe it wasn't meant to be, even though we both think it was...
Now that I look back, I think we didn't try harder... We just pretty much left it like that...
In love, I was...

Now, I'm just looking for that one person that will understand me and be happy together.
Well yea, I still have some types - a girl gotta keep her standards! ;) but whether you're a guy or a girl, I think we shouldn't be that picky...  It's time to realize that no one is perfect but know that they could change.
In a relationship we should be able to change each other to be a better person, to make each other happy and support each other in whatever the situation is. Be there for each other, through bad times and good times... Be on each other side to achieve each other dream and fulfill each other passion and of course, our dream as a couple, together, for the future.

Well, I'm the kind of person who believes in destiny. I believe that each and every one of us is destined to be with someone compatible for us. The right person.
So for you that has already met yours, a big congratulations is in order...
But for all my single ladies and gentlemen out there, enjoy your single life while you have it and open your eyes, who knew... Maybe the right person for you is around you...

I like to remember this everyday: I am one step closer to meet my right guy!

New Year Celebration in Bali

Dress, Dinda Rella Resort

WOW!!!! We're already on my New Year post....
I know I know it doesn't look like New Year cos even though it was in Bali, I didn't go out celebrate it with a bunch of stranger which could've been fun... but I celebrate it with my closed ones. Nothing much, very low key, an intimate dinner, you know just a lil soiree... we rented the whole restaurant area near the swimming pool so we could see the fireworks and had some wine and pizza. I was the DJ for the night via soundcloud and Nicki Minaj's Beats Pill so yeah, it was pretty awesome...
Sadly, it rained right when the clock strikes midnight... BOO HOO but we did see some amazing fireworks and the guests in the hotel came outside to their balcony to celebrate... we had our hats, trumpets and a lil confetti. A quick recap, Mariah Carey singing from Times Sq via Youtube, and countdown and screaming and hugging yep, there were a lot of hugs...
All and all it was so different from the past three years, but I had fun. And that is when I know that this year is going to be different also. Hopefully different in so many good ways, a bit late well  a hundred and six days late but whatever,

Breakfast Routines

Peacock Dress from Bali Shops
Guess Aviator
iPanema Flip Flops

My breakfast routine is all about bread and a cup of coffee/tea/juice and it's obvious that where ever I go Starbucks will be one of the places I look for. It may not be on the list but it's always on my mind. They have everything that I need for my Breakfast Routines. No, I'm not a coffee addict or Starbucks addict but there's just something about Starbucks. I like their sandwiches and their cakes, I looove their drinks too - I think it's on point and they understand what the customer wants, cos you can always cutomize your drinks there!
And on my way to the beach I wanted to go to Starbucks and get my coffee fix with some sandwich... and before I ever got to Starbucks I stumbled upon this cute lil shop called, Bread Basket -aaaand one thing about me, I love love love love cute lil shop; the intimacy, the lil people that comes, the atmosphere and the interior are usualy unique too, just everything about cute lil shop is adorable!
So I stopped by and ordered some usuals; capucinno, pretzels and a baguette sandwich filled with bacon, chesee and pastrami if I'm not mistaken haha... did I mention I have a big apetite? Hahaha I have and it's my guilty pleasure, the kinda bad habit that's hard to get rid of *oops*
The service is friendly but it did take some time for the food to be ready. But as soon as the food arrived, I had my first bite and it didn't disappoint me!
It was deliiiiiiisssssshhh! The texture of the bread is really soft and it wasn't hard for me to eat the baguette #recomended The capucinno is perfect for me, and the pretzels' saltyness and sweetness mixed with butter was the kinda pretzels that I always imagine a pretzels should be. They have a variations of traditional and gourmet breads!
It was such a good morning because my tummy is happy! *happy tummy happy gal* You should definitely go and check it out whenever you're in Bali ;)

fortune cookies

Jumpsuit, Somewhere Bali
Bikini, Xhilaration

A good life is when you've successfully tanned and when you make your tummy happy.
So endless tanning and chinese food was exactly what I did during the last days I was in Bali. After two weeks, I don't know what to do anymore and I pretty much bought everything I want, need and lust so... forgive me god for I may have over-tanned and over-eat....
Anyway, fortune cookies was my favorite part of the chinese food after all the kungpow chicken, wonton and friends... not only the taste is yummy but the surprisingly wise and soothing words inside it....
The words up there in the fortune cookies are such a mood lifter!!!

The first one says,
"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world"

The second one,
"I've learned that life is tough but I'm tougher"

It's just very meaningful and it gets me... right there, right in my heart and in my mind.
Like, it shows that who ever opens the fortune cookies and get those words is worth it.
It's telling me and reminding me to never give up, ever. And that's exactly what I want to share with you guys, what I want you guys to know. You are worth it. You should do what ever it is that makes you happy and most importantly, never give up!... especially when you want to make your dreams come true. Work really hard for it, don't think about the time, the time will pass anyway... Think about the future and how you will be able to live your dream life... And if the doors to your dreams are closing one by one then maybe it's not leading anywhere anymore, find other doors, other ways... Maybe other dreams, I know this would be hard but don't worry, because you could be destined to have a beautiful life with other beautiful dreams that could make you happier than ever...
And always remember: there are people that want you to do great but not better than them, people that only wants to see you fall and fail but there are also people that always got your back, and they are your support system! Don't underestimate or take them for granted, these people are your motivators!
See, there are nothing that stands between you and your dreams... BE THAT GOal GETTER*...

*The stylish one, obviously ;)

Have you got your SWAG checked?

"So true how they say, the happiest things in life comes from the little things"

Saturday morning spent by the beach swimming, tanning, super low key super fun. Then off strolling around Bali, ate dinner, and did some shopping.

Outfit deets:
What I did on the first picture was putting a big scarf - that I used for laying down, on top of my bikini, put it around my lower back area pull it up front to my neck area and tie it. Voila! it's a dress...
The second outfit; I got the tshirt in Beach Walk Kuta and decided to cut the sleeves off because it was very hot. I'm sooo into statement shirts this one got an extra point for the neon lettering, recycled the shorts cos I packed light ;) It's all about doing the Kate Middleton recycled pieces into new styling. Put my Mawi Necklace on, beaded Cuff that I got from a Market in Bali and One Eyed Earcuff for that punk , laid back style.

Lady in Red //Night out in Bali

So I had a great time in Bali... whoawhoaa great is an understatement, cross'em... I had an AMAZING time!

As you may know, Bali now have hundreds of places to visit and mostly it's hangout places which is so much fun to relax in and to let loose.

Dolled up a bit in a Red maxi dress with a statement necklace, all I got from two cute lil store in Bali #winning. Then first I went to SOS Supper Club which has a beautiful view of the sunset with the reflection on the water and people walking by the beach with their dogs. Just the kinda thing that makes me want to stay there longer... The music the DJ was playing was soothing, perfect for the afternoon-sunset-rooftop-by-the-beach situation. SOS Supper Club is a really nice place to hang with friends, have a romantic wine and dine for two, or even a family dinner. The waitress were friendly and the service was great and they also have a pretty big place that suitable for a dance floor during the nightlife. Ohhhh I almost forgot, the roof were like made out of mirrors, as you can see, so you can see the stars while you're laying down on the square sofa bed complete with the pillow. Ugh just over all exciting and I can't wait to go back!

Then, we're off to Motel Mexicola! This place is THE place people go to when they're in Bali. I mean, it's all over the magazines, blog and instagram. Unfortunately, their service was not that friendly and the place is not like SOS or Rock Bar. It's a cafe in the middle of the Seminyak area thus it is not by the beach but they do have colorful settings, live bands performing Latina songs, and a very thick Mexican tradition on the decoration; simple furniture accessorize with flowers, pictures & candles, they also served an exquisito food.
Aaaand if you know me you know I looooove Mariachi band, and if you don't, well, now you know. So when I got there and I heard all these songs, all of my body from H to T, it just started to dance. I just have a thing with good music and I think dancing is in my bloodstream, like it's in my DNA cos I can't just stand still when there's a music.
The Motel Mexicola was sooo entertaining, everything down to their sense of humor on the way to the bathroom. Go there and take a look at yourself!
